What sort of sick, twisted SOB claims to be the uncle of a dead student to play politics?
This sort of sick, twisted SOB … that’s who.
As Twitchy readers know, Keith Olbermann was pushing some ridiculous story about Gov. Abbott trying to force the family of one of the slain students in the Uvalde shooting to take a picture with him proving they don’t blame him or want guns banned.
Yeah, this sounds stupid already, it gets stupider.
Well, according to the story shared by the ‘uncle’ of this poor student, the ‘representatives’ Abbott sent became hostile and even made threats when they refused.
Told you it gets stupider.
And only stupid people would believe it right? Like Keith?
Andy Ngô was good enough to shed a little light on the person behind this account and the ridiculously awful and heartless scam he’s trying to pull on Twitter.
This thread from a man who claims @GregAbbott_TX sent a representative to offer money to pose w/the governor for #Uvalde has gone ultra-viral with the left. But I looked into who is really behind the account. Jason R. Nauertz, 43, is not from Texas. He's from Spokane, Wash. https://t.co/DogHRknaxs pic.twitter.com/VUjuZsbclB

Ya’ don’t say?!
Gosh, we feel shocked.
Jason R. Nauertz has claimed on Twitter to be a 9/11 responder, a Purple Heart recipient, & to have had another nephew that was killed. No one with his name has received a Purple Heart.
He is an anti-Trump activist who has boasted about shooting at cars with Trump flags. pic.twitter.com/EbgqT26Vrt

According to other Tweeps, he has also claimed to recently have undergone a liver transplant.
K.
Remember when we said only stupid people would fall for this? Check it out:
Many left-wing verified accounts have amplified the claims & made it go viral with no independent scrutiny. It conforms to their bias so that's good enough to be true. An editor at the Austin Chronicle (@YorkshireTX) was among them. https://t.co/Tfo8v0MjDk pic.twitter.com/qWy0vyHSN2
— Andy Ngô 🏳️🌈 (@MrAndyNgo) May 27, 2022
Titus. What a toad.
IMPORTANT THREAD.
HA HA HA HA HA HA
But wait, there’s more!
Multiple Pulitzer-winning LA Times columnist Patt Morrison helped amplify the claims. https://t.co/HzygwoKDYU pic.twitter.com/ux7qva3Hup
— Andy Ngô 🏳️🌈 (@MrAndyNgo) May 27, 2022
Totally, trying to straight-up hush it.
.@cbs46 news anchor @shongables amplified the claim a #Uvalde family member was offered cash to pose with Gov. @GregAbbott_TX, as did @KeithOlbermann, who frequently falls for hoaxes. @USATODAY digital producer @BGisBrandonGray as well. https://t.co/WCAYhv8lxT pic.twitter.com/e7W67kyXmg
— Andy Ngô 🏳️🌈 (@MrAndyNgo) May 27, 2022
Seems Twitter loves to verify people who fall for and push hoaxes.
‘The nightmare continues.’
This tells us how absolutely warped people are … to believe this? WITHOUT A SHRED of evidence?
Left-wing activist Amy Siskind, who has shared many hoaxes, amplified the claim. @SassyMamainLA, an editor for Entertainment Weekly (@EW), called for the FBI to investigate Gov. Abbott. https://t.co/ACIR50AIqd pic.twitter.com/UBEyKsFODe
— Andy Ngô 🏳️🌈 (@MrAndyNgo) May 27, 2022
Amy Siskind … HA HA HA HA HA HA
Because of course.
Other journalists also jumped on the story. https://t.co/7sL6gm2h23 pic.twitter.com/JEmyVqVjZn
— Andy Ngô 🏳️🌈 (@MrAndyNgo) May 27, 2022
Unbelievable.
Wait, you know what, it’s all too believable.
Jason Nauertz, the Spokane man who claimed in an ultra-viral thread to be a family member of a deceased nephew in the #Uvalde shooting who @GregAbbott_TX tried to bribe, had also claimed to be black. His Facebook profile before it was deleted shows photos of a man who isn't black pic.twitter.com/IGPaCwbUep
— Andy Ngô 🏳️🌈 (@MrAndyNgo) May 27, 2022
Yeah, that dude doesn’t look black.
Actress Rosanna Arquette thanks Jason Nauertz for his "courage." https://t.co/B8HUWsU6h0 pic.twitter.com/3puQLISmLc
— Andy Ngô 🏳️🌈 (@MrAndyNgo) May 27, 2022
Woof.
Katie Hall, a reporter for the Austin newspaper @statesman & chair of the @austinnewsguild reached out to Jason Nauertz to ask him to help her amplify his claims. https://t.co/nBKPD8Gtx3https://t.co/PPC8T0NHqQ pic.twitter.com/ezsRCiHSE0
— Andy Ngô 🏳️🌈 (@MrAndyNgo) May 27, 2022
We got nothin’.
Jason R. Nauertz also claimed to have been a prisoner of war, a 9/11 first responder, a Purple Heart recipient, having another nephew killed prior to #Uvalde, & being offered a bribe by Gov. @GregAbbott_TX. https://t.co/REzdPIUDY1 pic.twitter.com/wOtutHilWe
— Andy Ngô 🏳️🌈 (@MrAndyNgo) May 27, 2022
The dude is a complete and total grifter.
Or possibly a lunatic.
He’s promised “proof” to back up his other scams and grifts, but of course he never follows through. (Btw, although he’s claiming to be Black, his #cashapp links to a white man) pic.twitter.com/9NMtljktT2
— Amygator 🐊 *not an actual alligator (@AmyA1A) May 27, 2022
listen, wilder things have happened but this account loves to claim a dead nephew occurred after a tragedy https://t.co/BENnHScuOi pic.twitter.com/QckqoP9bmG
— carbonating my soda so hard i pass out (@rachelmillman) May 26, 2022
Oh, and don’t worry, he’s now claiming his sister (you know, the mother of the slain student) has security camera and he’ll have PROOF to share very soon.

Yeah, we’ll let you know when his ‘proof’ shows up, although we’re not expecting much since he’s apparently pulled this crap several times before and nope, no proof for those claims either.
Awful.
