Gabriel Sherman of Vanity Fair wrote a fairly dramatic piece about Fox News supposedly being in a basic meltdown, with issues in management, and of course a specific dig at Hannity and how he’s fretting about a post-Trump existence.
Chaos inside Fox News as impeachment looms. Mgmt told Smith to stop attacking Carlson. Hannity privately says whistleblower is really bad for Trump. Paul Ryan has told Lachlan to plan for a post-Trump future.https://t.co/b2MmBKrWkF

From Vanity Fair:
Trump’s final bulwark is liable to be his first one: Fox News. Fox controls the flow of information—what facts are, whether allegations are to be believed—to huge swaths of his base. And Republican senators, who will ultimately decide whether the president remains in office, are in turn exquisitely sensitive to the opinions of Trump’s base. But even before the whistle-blower’s revelations, Fox was having something of a Trump identity crisis, and that bulwark has been wavering. In recent weeks, Trump has bashed Fox News on Twitter, taking particular issue lately with its polling, which, like other reputable polls, has shown the president under significant water. Meanwhile, Trump’s biggest booster seems to be having doubts of his own. This morning, Sean Hannity told friends the whistle-blower’s allegations are “really bad,” a person briefed on Hannity’s conversations told me. (Hannity did not respond to a request for comment). And according to four sources, Fox Corp CEO Lachlan Murdoch is already thinking about how to position the network for a post-Trump future. A person close to Lachlan told me that Fox News has been the highest rated able network for seventeen years, and “the success has never depended on any one administration.” (A Fox Corp spokesperson declined to comment.)

That says everything.
Sean Hannity himself addressed Gabe’s piece and yeah … it wasn’t overly friendly. And who could blame him?
(1/2)Gabe, not sure who your source is, (I do know the people that usually like to leak to you) but you need to go back to them because they flat out lied to you. #FakeNews https://t.co/LF7BCqjF38

When will they learn NOT to mess with Hannity?
(2/2) Not only did I not say what they told you, but I believe just the opposite. The insanity, obvious hypocrisy, and overreach of the Democratic Party on this issue is DRAMATICALLY helping @realdonaldtrump get re-elected. https://t.co/LF7BCqjF38

Boom.
Yeah, this doesn’t sound right. @seanhannity had @jsolomonReports on and I’m pretty sure he isn’t thinking the whistleblower hurts Trump? https://t.co/SFR6BVxdqY

Yeah, this whole whistleblower story is starting to sound like the Steele Dossier debacle all over again. And, of course, the media are doing their part to pretend THIS TIME THEY GOT HIM.
Embarrassing ain’t it?
You didn’t have to clarify this Sean, we all already knew this story was BS. #FakeNews

He didn’t have to but we’re really glad he did.
Heh.
