No, NDAA Section 219 Doesn’t Merge the U.S. and Israeli Militaries — Here’s What It Actually Does

Today, a bill passed the House named the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act). Lots of incorrect information has circulated about this bill, so let's dig in and clear up some nonsense.

First of all, if every Democrat votes no on anything, it's probably GREAT for America. That's the case with this bill. This bill does not merge the US and Israeli militaries. That's nonsense.

This bill allows two advanced militaries to work together to ensure safety for both nations. This is similar to agreements we have with other allies.

My dad retired from the Army National Guard, so we often visited MacDill Space Force Base to grocery shop or pick up his medications. It was always a fascinating experience to shop alongside service members from nations all over the world—seeing their varied uniforms, hearing their accents, and exchanging friendly hellos. MacDill is home to CENTCOM, which meant many of our allies were regularly present. They worked side-by-side with American personnel, trained together, and helped shape strategy. This kind of partnership is nothing new, and it’s a good thing.

This obvious lie was made up by The Quincy Institute and a lobby closely tied to the Islamic Republic. Now it’s been widely adopted by a ton of fringe figures and some politicians.
