One of the biggest differences between Trump 1.0 and Trump 2.0 is the team the President has assembled around him.
While a few senior members of his administration have departed, either through non-performance (like Pam Bondi) or due to personal issues (like Tulsi Gabbard), there's no question that the overwhelming majority of President Trump's Cabinet are absolute ROCK STARS.
From Marco Rubio to Scott Bessent to RFK Jr., Team Trump does not suffer fools lightly, and they're more than willing to tell those fools so — right to their faces.
But it goes beyond the household names. Scott Turner is Trump's Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Turner, a former NFL cornerback and Texas state representative, had served in the Biden administration, but not with any real authority. Now, as HUD Secretary, he can implement real solutions. And do a lot more with MUCH less.
A few days ago, a reporter tried to bait Turner with a question about HUD budget cuts under Trump. His response is straight fire, and it should be hooked into the veins of EVERY politician in Washington who wants to spend taxpayer money.
Watch:
HUD has an $83 billion budget.

It’s not a money issue; it’s a stewardship issue.
The previous administration threw money at issues, hoping they would go away.
We are funding results — a win for the taxpayer and those we serve. pic.twitter.com/mOiYZqt7Xv
The beginning of the exchange is right out of the Trump 2.0 playbook. The reporter has no idea what she is talking about, and Turner told her so in no uncertain terms.
But then he gets to the part about stewardship being the issue — and how that stewardship was horrible under the Biden administration — and we wanted to stand up and cheer.
This was one of the strongest answers I’ve seen to a reporter’s question in recent memory. Keep @SecretaryTurner out in front!🇺🇸

We agree wholeheartedly.
Our only regret is not seeing his remarks when he first posted them at the end of last week. But we'll keep both eyes open for what he has to say next.
Love @SecretaryTurner ! Another stud in the cabinet that doesn’t get the credit he deserves from the outside noise. https://t.co/NCC5z1vX87

He deserves so much more attention.
This is the message for young people. https://t.co/bmryZJnQH2

Amid all of the current hullaballoo about affordability (and burritos), every young person should watch this video and understand that only one party in America is remotely interested in saving the taxpayers more of their hard-earned money.
Yes, Republicans can and should do much better. But Democrats' 'solution' to everything is to throw more of OUR money at the problem ... and somehow make that problem even worse.
“Stewardship.”

From a Cabinet Secretary.
About an $83 billion budget.
Most officials only know how to say “we need more money.” Hearing someone in that position talk about results and actual responsibility for our tax dollars instead of just spending them is so rare it almost…
... feels foreign.
This is the part that should be normal — and almost never is.
If every politician had Turner's attitude towards his budget, there wouldn't BE an affordability crisis in America.
Stewardship is an excellent word. And exactly what we need across the board in every department in every level of government in this country. For one thing there should not be more government jobs than civilian jobs and they should not make more than civilian jobs.

This is a perfect explanation and reply to the question. It IS about stewardship. I'm so glad @SecretaryTurner is at the helm of HUD.

It makes us want to go back and watch his remarks 10 more times.
Put secretary Turner in front of the camera way more often! https://t.co/srJt7I8Bwz

Sec Turner has identified the issue. Exceptional response https://t.co/nZtK64qIZk

We should make t-shirts that simply say: "Stewardship IS The Issue."
I have been an designer/architect on a HUD project and I can tell you everything about that process (to follow whatever red tape rules the HUD employees had or created for themselves) raised the cost of that project by millions of dollars and cut out competition. From the very…

... beginning they did the opposite of what we advised in our professional opinion.
It sounds like Turner is working to correct and eliminate the malfeasance and fraud. For that, the media treats him like an enemy combatant.
Let that sink in.
Bravo! Secretary Scott Turner for putting this dumb reporter who clearly knows nothing. https://t.co/Jm2bQAhMK0

We're beginning to think that most reporters fall under this category.
Just put them in front of anyone in Trump's Cabinet and watch how little they actually know.
I love this guy! https://t.co/6za8MWjMr5

We love his words, but as Secretary Turner himself would say, it's results that matter.
With this mindset, though, we're pretty certain that Turner can deliver results.
And probably for much less than $83 billion.
