Many Democrats insisted on backing the campaign of Graham Platner despite his obvious issues.
Now that those same Dems are calling on their Maine Senate nominee to drop out, the situation has become almost impossible to satirize.
They’re supposed to be satire … oddly enough, Democrats are getting harder and harder to satirize.

Legit LOL. pic.twitter.com/b07lVJC6p4
Hilarious and accurate.
Now, the same Democrats who knew about his Nazi tattoo and previous allegations but were still fine with endorsing Platner are trying to pretend he can't really screw things up for them now that the party has withdrawn its support.
A Kamala Harris redux? The Maine Democratic Party just declared: "We have repeatedly reiterated to Graham Platner's team that they have no role in determining our next Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate." After an anti-establishment primary, such rhetoric could backfire. What…

Oh, Platner could have a role, alright. He could refuse to quit, split the Dem vote in the midterm and allow the Republicans to keep the Senate seat. This sums it up nicely:
Guys, Platner’s the nominee. He’s got literally nothing else to do, and he’ll still get an excellent contingent of idiots to vote for him. What’s to lose? It’s not even like he has to get back to the oyster farm. He’s got one customer, and it’s his mom. https://t.co/uDKixKvQ7M

The Democrats would rather that Platner just go hide in a bunker (yeah, I know) but I'd rather he just yell "LEROY JENKINS" and go ruin the race for his party.
Democrats have known for months that Graham Platner was an abusive, psychotic, adolescent Nazi.

They didn’t care. All that mattered was the polls. Could he win?
The polling after the primary finally dropped, so they pulled the Code Red on him.
Never allow these people to… pic.twitter.com/b5grFmSnb2
The usual projection is also taking place. The party that always says Republicans are un-democratic and don't respect the voters are the same ones who shoved Biden out the door and replaced him with Kamala Harris. Now they're trying to get the Dem primary winner to leave so they can install somebody else.
Now Sen. Chris Murphy says the Democratic Party's credibility is at stake if Platner isn't properly replaced. I'd argue though that the credibility problem was putting a guy with a Nazi tattoo and numerous sexual assault allegations against him (not to mention some other disturbing things) in the position to be their Senate nominee.
Meanwhile, Murphy's concerned about his own credibility via attempts to memory hole his support for Platner.
Why’d you delete all of your posts supporting the Nazi rapist, Chris? :) https://t.co/MKnXu88TXR

@ChrisMurphyCT may be scrubbing his own X account regarding Platner but he can’t delete these clips… https://t.co/KELlyC31iF

Somehow Murphy will make this all Trump's fault, if he hasn't already.
If Khanna, Sanders, Murphy, Warren, Gallego and all the rest want to know why they're going to have a Graham Platner problem for quite a while longer, all they need to do is go look in a mirror. Some of those people might not have a reflection, but it's still worth a try.
