I don’t know about everybody else, but where I am at the moment it is seven degrees headed to a high for the day of nine. The upside to the blizzard conditions is that the high winds are keeping the snow from accumulating so there won’t be a lot of shoveling to do.
Another upside to the incredibly cold temperatures in most of the country? It forces some climate change alarmists to come out and explain why the incredibly widespread cold weather doesn’t mean there’s no “global warming” problem.
A top science trend as a result of the shivering temps is “global warming,” and much of the reason us due to some ongoing mockery:
However, the media (and other climate change alarmists) operate under the credo “Always Be Closing,” and as a result, there’s some heavy lifting going on in order to explain that the incredibly cold temperatures don’t mean global warming has taken a holiday:

The media could not be more predictable.
But as you know, they often want it both ways. Last year CNN reported that the odds of having a “white Christmas” are going down due to global warming, and this year CNN reported on a frigid “arctic blast.” The reason? You guessed it: Climate change:

I’m reminded of stories from a couple decades ago that described the snow-free hellscape that winter would become. Instead now we even have NASA getting in on the “allow us to explain” action for why we’re freezing our bits off due to all the warming that’s happening:

When I was in elementary school some of these same government agencies were telling us there was another ice age on the way, and now when it’s icy they tell us it’s because of a warming climate. It’s all so confusing!

And you know the answer to that is going to be “all of it”:
Climate change experts say that it’s not merely a coincidence — climate change really is worsening our winter storms this year, as multiples experts told Salon.
“Winter storms develop in a climate change environment: it is warmer and moister,” Kevin Trenberth of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) told Salon by email. “But it is plenty cold in winter over the continent. It means snow amounts can be much greater: e.g. see Buffalo recently. They may be more intense: not guaranteed, but more developments ensue. Watch for a bad nor-easter.”
