President Biden’s visit to Saudi Arabia earlier this year was clearly an attempt to convince OPEC to ramp up oil production to help bring down the cost of gasoline at the pump ahead of the midterm elections. The Saudis actually ended up saying production would be lowered.

Saudi Arabia released an official statement regarding the attempts by the Biden Admin to get a political favor from OPEC in form of them delaying their announced cuts by a month. https://t.co/n7GpCrxLnU

The New York Times is now reporting that the Biden White House’s humiliation isn’t so much because the Saudis said they were going to decrease oil production, but that this administration was under the impression they had a “secret deal” with the Saudis to increase production and that ended up not being the case:
Incredible. Team Biden worked frantically to cut a deal with the Saudis to manipulate gas/oil prices before the election and thought they had a secret deal. https://t.co/TUzhLbgfeA pic.twitter.com/05don5OGmy

So not only was Biden trying to make a deal with the Saudis to save his party's ass in the midterms, his administration was telling Democrats in Congress about it privately. Apparently they're perfectly fine with quid pro quos. pic.twitter.com/42Xq8r3j2m

How hard must the Saudi leadership be laughing at Biden after his visit where he implored them to ramp up production and save his approval rating (and the Dems’ midterm changes)?

Wow. If Biden was a Republican I’d bet he’d have been impeached by now for this:
As President Biden was planning a politically risky trip to Saudi Arabia this summer, his top aides thought they had struck a secret deal to boost oil production through the end of the year — an arrangement that could have helped justify breaking a campaign pledge to shun the kingdom and its crown prince.
It didn’t work out that way.
Mr. Biden went through with the trip. But earlier this month, Saudi Arabia and Russia steered a group of oil-producing countries in voting to slash oil production by two million barrels per day, the opposite of the outcome the administration thought it had secured as the Democratic Party struggles to deal with inflation and high gas prices heading into the November elections.
The Democrats impeached Trump for FAR less.
Biden is draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and attempted to coerce the Saudis into manipulating oil prices.
Impeach on day one. https://t.co/Bg2GzchQ00

This administration is a total joke, and not the “ha ha” kind.
Democrats would have impeached Trump for this.
Republicans should return the favor. https://t.co/RjDUeFrfNI

It’s looking like the Republicans might have their chance after the midterms.

Nothing to see here!
Four months ago, Biden claimed he wouldn't ask Saudi Arabia to increase oil output.
Now we know he pressured them for a secret deal to increase production before the midterm election. https://t.co/X7u2e3noLK pic.twitter.com/40S8MLhMcz

So now Biden’s raiding the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve to cover for his administration’s horrendous and disastrous energy policies (or lack thereof), and got beclowned by the Saudis to top things off. All is well!
