Earlier today NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo held a press conference where he blamed anybody and everybody not named “Cuomo” for all the backlash he’s getting after it was reported that an aide said the governor’s office hid nursing home data from the federal government.
After the press conference and during a Q & A with reporters, Cuomo was asked a question that he answered in a way that sparked a whole lot of reactions like this:
Oh the irony.

Cuomo was asked about the state legislature (where even Democrats aren’t buying what he’s trying to sell) possibly issuing subpoenas and/or rescinding his emergency powers. Cuomo responded this way:
JUST IN: NY Gov. Cuomo claims it is a "crime" for the NY legislature to threaten subpoenas and to rescind his emergency powers over his alleged coverup of COVID nursing home deaths pic.twitter.com/GnUoLyEd9N

There’s a line in the Stallone movie Judge Dredd that sounds a lot like how Cuomo’s coming across: “I never broke the law — I AM THE LAW!”
To look into my potential crime is a crime?
Is that his argument?

Those in power are never quick, nor inclined, to give up that power without substantial resistance.

Guess what? It’s not a crime to rescind his EP. state leg needs to take back it’s plenary power. Enough. We the People know what we need to do to get through this tough time #wethepeople https://t.co/g5oRFpp2k6
