Would this qualify as a “first-world problem”? The Times certainly thought it qualified for the front page.

Aren’t people with dreadlocks able to wear helmets while playing other sports?

The Times’ story ends this way:

Black riders say the manufacturers’ responses demonstrate what they’re up against.

“Sports were only developed for white people and they continue to keep white people protected,” Ms. Robbins said. “People need to realize diversity and inclusion belongs anywhere, especially in sports.”

Black athletes in contact sports aren’t allowed to wear helmets, pads, etc.? The New York Times really helped break a story there.
