California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom is a frequent critic of the NRA, and he thinks he’s caught the gun rights organization in an ironic position:
More than a little ironic that the NRA says we must be supplied with the facts, but has spent the last 20+ years blocking the CDC from researching gun violence. pic.twitter.com/YWbxGwEADt

There’s just one problem with that, as Dana Loesch pointed out while shooting down another liberal narrative balloon:
Ironic that someone who presents themselves as informed on this issue is somehow unaware of, or ignores because of its conclusion, this CDC study commissioned by Obama in 2013: https://t.co/X8pfrLKAKE https://t.co/9dD7yJuSHp

That’s going to leave a mark!

“Self-defense can be an important crime deterrent,” says a new report by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The $10 million study was commissioned by President Barack Obama as part of 23 executive orders he signed in January.
“Studies that directly assessed the effect of actual defensive uses of guns (i.e., incidents in which a gun was ‘used’ by the crime victim in the sense of attacking or threatening an offender) have found consistently lower injury rates among gun-using crime victims compared with victims who used other self-protective strategies,” the CDC study, entitled “Priorities For Research to Reduce the Threat of Firearm-Related Violence,” states.
You can see why the pro-gun control crowd would want to pretend that CDC report doesn’t exist.
Meanwhile, the over-the-top rhetoric from people like Newsom continues to backfire on them:
this is for YOU, Gavin…
It's MY response to you and your ILK. pic.twitter.com/B2WyRUbr7e
