As our own Just Mindy reported on New Year's Eve, the Nokomis Daycare Center, a Somali daycare in Minneapolis, was broken into this week and vandalized, and checkbooks and parents’ documents were stolen, according to Ismail Royer, who's been published in The Washington Post, USA Today, Newsday, Dallas Morning News, First Things, American Conservative, and Public Discourse. I learned from follow-up posts that the police had determined nothing was missing. There was vandalism, though; apparently, the burglar, who tried to force his way into the daycare through the door of the neighboring Family Dollar, tried to tunnel his way in through the drywall.

Someone really wanted those student enrollment documents.
As I reported, the manager of the alleged daycare, Nasruham Mohamed, held a press conference about the break-in from inside the center. What really got to me, though, as I pointed out, was how he managed to wrangle a few white liberals to stand behind him holding pieces of printer paper with crayon-drawn messages on them. One held a sign that read, "Cutting CCAP [Child Care Assistance Program] HURTS Kids!" My favorite, though, was the white woman holding the sign reading, "Racism Has NO Place in Childcare."
