Department of Child Services Takes Son Away From Parents Who Won't 'Affirm' Their Gender

Back in 2019, Sen. Rand Paul called it "child abuse" after a Texas jury ruled against a father who was trying to keep his 7-year-old son, James Younger, from being chemically castrated and transitioned into a girl named “Luna” by the boy’s non-biological mother. Gov. Greg Abbott said the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services would be looking into it. The last we'd heard, a court had ordered Jeffrey Younger to pay $5,000 a month for trans-affirming counseling sessions, and the mother was given sole authority to make all decisions about the child.

Fast forward to 2024, and an Indiana couple are looking to the state Supreme Court to get their son back, who was taken away by the Indiana Department of Child Services because they wouldn't "affirm" his new gender.

NEW: Catholic Indiana couple appeals to Supreme Court after their child was taken from them after they refused to refer to him as his preferred pronouns.

Utter insanity.

In 2021, the Indiana Department of Child Services investigated parents Mary and Jeremy Cox and later took their son after they refused to refer to him as a girl.

He was then placed in a home that affirmed his gender identity.

The parents have reportedly filed a petition to the Supreme Court asking for their case to be heard.

Here is their story:

Back in 2022, we did a post on a Virginia legislator who was working to make it illegal there not to affirm your child's gender identity. In June 2022, President Joe Biden signed an executive order:

My Administration must safeguard LGBTQI+ youth from dangerous practices like so-called “conversion therapy” — efforts to suppress or change an individual’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression — a discredited practice that research indicates can cause significant harm, including higher rates of suicide-related thoughts and behaviors by LGBTQI+ youth.

I remember doing a post on a woman who was bombarded with hateful tweets and called a TERF after she refused to "affirm" her daughter's new gender. Instead, she cut off her daughter's access to social media: "I didn’t affirm my daughter, I removed her from the contagion" — "Over a year later, she’s thriving more than she ever was when involved in gender craze."

So CPS can actually take your child away and place them in an "affirming house"?

Keep in mind that the Biden administration is all-in on this. The Post-Millennial just this week did a piece on new guidance from Planned Parenthood:

The guidance titled "4 Facts You Need to Know About Your Kids, Gender Identity and Being Trans," which is listed on Planned Parenthood's website under "gender identity," states as a "fact" that “gender identity, for everyone, is formed in the toddler years.”

Planned Parenthood tells parents that in order to create a "safer space" for their toddler they should ask their child point blank if they identify as a "boy or a girl." Whatever answer the toddler gives, parents should accept it and treat them as such.

So parents should ask their 3-year-old if they're a boy or a girl and respect the toddler's decision.

Maybe if some medical professionals weren't so anxious to prescribe puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones some of these kids might not turn out to be trans after all.

And the trans community cries about "trans genocide."

This family is Catholic, so they won't find any support from the Biden administration, despite Joe being a "devout Catholic" himself. And as Dad says, he did research: maybe "conversion therapy" — trying to convince your son that he's a boy and to accept it — isn't a discredited practice, as Biden wrote.

The Left goes nuts when parents want to keep sexually graphic books out of the library; they're certainly not going to let a child go "unaffirmed" by his own mother and father.

Parents are always the enemy. Public schools are the safe place for "trans kids."
