Model Ella Emhoff Posts a New Year's Selfie

This is my last post for the year, and it comes just two days after I received a nice certificate in the mail congratulating me on 11 years with Twitchy and Salem Communications. Add two years to that to account for when the site was owned by Michelle Malkin and her husband and it's actually 13 years. So happy new year, everyone.

"Decency, decency, decency," said President Joe Biden in his speech marking the death of former President Jimmy Carter, whose administration doesn't look quite as bad now. I was in middle school during the Carter years and remember his administration well.

Some say that Biden slammed President-elect Donald Trump in his speech by adding, "Can you imagine Jimmy Carter referring to someone by the way they look or the way they talk"? OK, so it was just a few days ago that our own Warren Squire did a post on reactions to Ella Emhoff's photo shoot as an official model for Prada. Take a look:

And flash mobs are looting Prada stores in their search for bread? Maybe Carter wouldn't have said anything about Emhoff's looks, but I will. I remember doing a post on Kamala Harris' stepdaughter getting signed to IMG Models: her crocheted outfits and armpit hair must have been "in" at the time.

And that's her professional black-and-white glossy. It convinced Prada to engage her services.

I don't understand the world I'm living in. Harris gets a $20 million advance for her book, and her stepdaughter has signed with a top modeling agency (after the 2020 election). Just to tie everything up, Washington Post columnist Catherine Rampell declared Doug Emhoff a "progressive sex symbol." Progressives and I obviously have different tastes.

I'd be curious to see if her star continues to rise once her stepmother is unemployed, just like I'm curious how many people will buy Harris' book. Hunter Biden is a serious artist, Harris' stepdaughter is a supermodel … it is beyond my understanding.

And first lady Melania Trump will appear on zero magazine covers for another four years.
