We’ve been seeing the move toward neo-segregation growing for a few years now. We’re old enough to remember back in 2016 when black students at Oberlin College demanded the creation of black-only “safe spaces” across the campus. Now we’re hearing plenty about school districts holding “anti-racist” training sessions for white teachers to prevent the “spirit murder” of their black students.
This isn’t the first example we’ve seen of a school district holding separate Zoom sessions for white parents and parents of color, but it seems odd for the district to want to have “difficult by necessary discussions” about race in the wake of the Derek Chauvin verdict and the Ma’Khia Bryant shooting by splitting up the audience by race.

When do they start using the "Colored Only" signs?

Segregation is back.

So what about someone who is half white and half black? Can they jump on both Zooms?

Dear administrative overlords, please clarify if multi-racial couples should attend using separate links

What do you do, if for example, one Parent is a POC and the other is White Supremicist?
— Paul Klee (@pgklee) April 23, 2021
It’s possible. We’ve been assured about mixed marriages that “you shouldn’t assume someone isn’t racist just because they own a minority sex servant.”
hmm… how does this work for biracial families? Would my husband and I need to report to the zoom that falls under our individual race OR could we pick one at random and join? (hopefully my district doesn't do this)

The Civil Rights Movement was a waste of time. You dishonoured my grandfather. They're bringing back segregation and therefore bringing back the discrimination against races that was prevalent before the Civil Rights Movement

Amazing. The progressive full circle, bringing back segregation in the name of the 'greater good'.

So…which one should Asian parents use?
— EvaLou (@EvaLou27692349) April 23, 2021
The one for white parents, because Asian Americans use white supremacist thinking to get ahead in school.
The resegregation of America by the left. Ain’t it great?

Division is the most necessary tool of the current political movement. Don't give it to them.
— Barry Gadbois (@BarryGadbois) April 24, 2021
Aren’t there some useful principles that apply to everyone equally and therefore, should be discussed with everyone equally?
— Greek Statue Guy (@MatthewParcens) April 23, 2021
Why is it even “very necessary to have space for our families to discuss and process”?
