Brandy Zadrozny reports Allen mall shooter was an incel who posted selfies of white power tattoos

The narrative is shaping up that the man who murdered eight people at an outdoor mall in Allen, Texas, over the weekend was motivated by white supremacist beliefs. “The View” host Ana Navarro has assured us that you don’t have to be white to be a white supremacist. Now NBC News’ Brandy Zadronzny, who specializes in following white supremacist chatter online, says Mauricio Garcia posted selfies of his white power tattoos. We know she’s a specialist because she and NBC News’ Ben Collins recently reported that white supremacist forums were “in shambles” over Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox News. (She also considers Libs of TikTok a “hate account.”)

Oh, and Russia is involved. And Garcia was apparently an incel — an involuntary celibate, which is a thing now — who had incel heroes.

Brandy Zadrozny, Courtney Kube, Ken Dilanian, and Erik Ortiz report:

Mauricio Garcia, 33, maintained a profile on the Russian social networking platform OK.RU, including posts referencing extremist online forums, such as 4chan, and content from white nationalists, including Nick Fuentes, an antisemitic white nationalist provocateur.

He also posted photos of a flak vest emblazoned with patches, including one with the acronym for “Right Wing Death Squad,” a popular meme among far-right extremist groups. Another post included a series of shirtless pictures with visible white power tattoos, including SS Lightning Bolts and a swastika.

So far, evidence that investigators have gathered suggests the shooter subscribed to a “mish-mash” of ideologies, according to a law enforcement official familiar with details of the investigation. But the official cautioned it may take weeks or months for agents to analyze the information gathered to gain a more complete picture of his ideology.

Are were sure that’s a selfie? His face isn’t in the shot. We’re not denying he could be a white supremacist, but we also don’t want to rush to conclusions. As we learned from the Audrey Hale case, it could take months to learn his motive.

Also, Zadrozny is 100 percent an activist “reporter.” Good to remember.
