The Biden administration is once again at odds with red-state governors. Remember back when President Joe Biden said, “If these governors won’t help beat the pandemic, I’ll use my power as president to get them out of the way“? Biden tried to federalize vaccine mandates but was stopped by the Supreme Court. We’re wondering now how far the Biden administration will go to work around legislation that bans transgender surgeries for minors? As Twitchy reported Wednesday, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra told Rep. Lauren Boebert that he supported the use of federal funds to provide gender-affirming surgeries for trans minors.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Thursday said that the administration supports gender-affirming health care for minors, which could potentially be “lifesaving.” (They’ll commit suicide if left trapped in the wrong bodies, the thinking goes.) Biden on the Transgender Day of Visibility put out a video telling trans kids that he had their backs, and also put out a chart listing these gender-affirming steps at any age:
