As I expected, the Left is using the catastrophic Texas floods to for political gain. First responders are still searching for dozens of missing people, including children swept away from a summer camp, and recovering those washed away in the flood waters, but the Left isn't wasting any time standing on their bodies to blame Trump.
I'll take a moment to address these claims, because they're absurd on their face and an insult to the victims of the flooding -- victims that include children, and whose parents should not have to deal with ghoulish Leftists capitalizing on the bodies of their sons and daughters.
There were multiple warnings about flooding as early as 12 hours prior, and a flash flood warning three hours in advance. Texas resident Dana Loesch spelled it out for Juliette Kayyem, whom I wrote about earlier:
Now, let's move on to the crux of this story: why does the Left revel in the suffering of others for political gain?
Aside from their driving animus of 'ORANGE MAN BAD,' I struggle to comprehend why Leftists do this every single time there's a tragedy, and then I saw this and the light bulb came on:
There is no more accurate summation of the Left than this.
It's not just natural disasters, either. Look at their reaction to the One Big Beautiful Bill -- Tens of thousands will die! Children will starve! -- or their election cycle hysteria about 'Project 2025' (which has yet to be implemented, much to my dismay). When there's a mass shooting, they decry legal gun ownership as if my AR-15 pulled the trigger (but they don't enforce gun laws on the books and give career criminals cashless bail). I distinctly remember being told President Trump's first VP, Mike Pence, was going to put gays in concentration camps. Yet, we just concluded yet another Pride Month with nary a camp in sight.
The Left has created a world where there is currency in victimhood, and where exploiting that victimhood gives them power and control. They believe the proper role of government is to run our lives from cradle (if they let us be born) to grave (where they send us early under the guise of 'compassionate' euthanasia). To do that, they need us to be dependent. And to be dependent, we must struggle, we must hurt, we must die.
When suffering happens, Leftists, like the roaches they are, crawl out of the woodwork to blame President Trump, Republicans, Christians, white men (or whatever group is politically expedient at that moment) for the suffering while promising only they can fix things. But only if we elect them and let them spend trillions of dollars, of course.
But when the suffering happens under their watch, as it did in Western North Carolina and Florida during Hurricane Helene and Milton last year? The Left will discriminate against those who don't hold the correct political views, as FEMA did, and they will mock the red state voters, claiming they got what they deserved for electing Republicans.
It's exploitative, it's abusive, and it's a vicious cycle where the Democratic Party hopes to be the winner.
Thankfully, they haven’t been winning much of anything lately--except well-deserved opprobrium for continually stepping over the still-warm bodies of victims to peddle yet another fictional narrative to their eager media accomplices.
