Projection -- which Britannica defines as 'the mental process by which people attribute to others what is in their own minds' -- is basic, psychology 101 stuff. Essentially, one person accuses another of that which they themselves are doing.
No where is that better illustrated than the Biden administration.
White House responds to Trump claim that Biden is running a “Gestapo” administration.

The entire asinine statement reads:
“Instead of echoing the appalling rhetoric of fascists, lunching with Neo Nazis, and fanning debunked conspiracy theories that have cost brave police officer their lives, President Biden is bringing the American people together around our shared democratic values and the rule of law - an approach that has delivered the biggest violent crime reduction in 50 years,” says deputy press sec @AndrewJBates46
Like I said: Psychology 101.
Every single thing Deputy Press Secretary Bates said in that statement is a lie, including 'a', 'and', and 'the'.
And I've got the receipts to prove it.
First -- the Neo Nazis. There are groups on college campuses across the country calling for the annihilation of Israel and the extermination of Jews. Whatever happened to the Left's cry of 'punch a Nazi'? Or did that go by the wayside when they embraced such fetid ideology?
As to police, it's the Left who has said the police uphold systemic racism, disproportionately shoot black men (this is false -- more than half of those shot by police are white), and demanded defunding of the police in 2020. When that became a political albatross, they said it was the GOP who wanted to defund the police and embraced law enforcement again.
Rule of law? That's laughable. Hunter Biden is clearly above the law, as is Hillary Clinton and pretty much every Democrat politician with any sort of power. Guys like Bob Menendez and Henry Cuellar are sacrificial lambs so the Democrats can say they 'cleaned house.' And this claim goes far beyond corruption and prosecution. Biden has repeatedly defied the Supreme Court on student loan forgiveness, openly attacked them on the Dobbs decision, and was utterly silent when the Democrats in the Senate ignored their Constitutional duty to hold an impeachment trial for Mayorkas. The Biden administration engages in lawfare -- using the law as a cudgel against its political opponents. Which is why he brags about the January 6 defendants getting 840-plus years in prison, and why BLM/Antifa activists go free while pro-life protesters face decades in prison. He refuses to enforce immigration laws, leading to a border crisis that will only get worse; with both Chinese nationals and terrorists unknown streaming across our southern border we can only pray it doesn't get even deadlier than it's already been.
Spare me the 'rule of law' argument.
Biden ran on 'healing the soul of the nation', but he's done more to divide us than any president in modern memory. From his rage-filled speech in Philadelphia to his barely coherent, screaming State of the Union address, he's made it clear his administration sees MAGA voters are the biggest threat to democracy ever, apparently. His administration classifies concerned parents and traditional Catholics as 'domestic terrorists', and calls anyone who opposes his radical abortion agenda an 'extremist.' His administration lies and gaslights about the economy, inflation, and jobs. If you don't think you're better off than you were four years ago, that's your fault for not seeing the brilliance of his economic plan (the one they dropped his name from, because it's working so well).
The Biden campaign cannot run on the issues. Not the economy. Not immigration. Not taxes (in a refreshing moment of unintentional honesty, Biden admitted your taxes are gonna go up if he's reelected). He's placing his eggs in the abortion basket: an issue that's a non-starter in blue states, where Dobbs had minimal impact and an issue rendered moot in red states because most women are going to be mad about his Title IX rewrite.
All they've got now is "ORANGE MAN BAD", but even that argument is losing weight. I won't lie -- I didn't want to vote for Trump in November. But -- when Trump was president, for all his many flaws -- I could afford gas and groceries. I also have a brain, and I see what the Biden administration is doing.
Projection won't win votes. It certainly hasn't won mine, and the more Biden doubles down on the gaslighting, the more he pushes me to pull that level for Trump.
