Since the 'border bill' was released, honestly even before the text was released he has been on a roll talking about how bad it is. He pointed out that the tactic people have been playing by writing up huge bills and trying to force a vote without anyone reading it is old and stupid. He called it before he even saw it.
Now the bill has come out, many in the Senate are calling on a leadership overhaul in the GOP that includes Mitch McConnel. FINALLY!! As a person who has followed politics most of my life, I have been so annoyed by McConnel and now people in the Senate getting on board, I can not contain my excitement!

People including myself have let McConnel ride along and kept our mouths shut simply because he has been there so long he has deals with everyone and he USED to be able to get some things done, but I have not seen him as an asset since George W. Bush was President. McConnel helped push us into passing legislation via peer pressure with Homeland Security and the NDAA way back when. He has had a hand in allowing things to stand and not pushing back. I personally find Mat Gaetz slightly annoying but McConnel is the reason we have a Matt Gaetz. He has been such a slow mover that Democrats have run over the Right in many cases without any pushback it has forced some into the forefront simply for the fact they are vocal about the crap the GOP tries to sell us over and over again.
I will not hold my breath because it IS still McConnel and that old turtle has been slow-walking his way around the Senate and pushing crappy legislation since before I was even in high school, but if more people can start to wake up and speak out maybe we can make some actual changes in the GOP. Ronna is on the way out, maybe it can be a late Christmas present and McConnel can be next! I am not wishing death upon him, just retirement. Time for the Boomers to retire already. I for one would love to see a government run by Gen X.
I also know not everyone is a fan of Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, or Mike Lee, but in my opinion, we need more of them and less of the McConnels in the world of politics. Will there be enough momentum to actually rid ourselves of McConnel? Maybe not but in 2024 when Ben Shapiro became a rap superstar, I say anything can happen!
