In case you missed it, Tucker Carlson recently asked Florida GOP Governor and presumptive presidential contender Ron DeSantis for his thoughts on Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.
Florida Governor @RonDeSantisFL answers our Ukraine questionnaire:
“While the U.S. has many vital national interests – securing our borders, addressing the crisis of readiness within our military, achieving energy security and independence, and checking the economic, cultural,… https://t.co/1I2elVi6hI

Here’s how DeSantis’ response concluded:
The Biden administration’s policies have driven Russia into a de facto alliance with China. Because China has not and will not abide by the embargo, Russia has increased its foreign revenues while China benefits from cheaper fuel. Coupled with his intentional depletion of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and support for the Left’s Green New Deal, Biden has further empowered Russia’s energy-dominated economy and Putin’s war machine at Americans’ expense.
Our citizens are also entitled to know how the billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars are being utilized in Ukraine.
We cannot prioritize intervention in an escalating foreign war over the defense of our own homeland, especially as tens of thousands of Americans are dying every year from narcotics smuggled across our open border and our weapons arsenals critical for our own security are rapidly being depleted.”
Conservative consensus on DeSantis’ position seems to be pretty split, but he has definitely ruffled the feathers of usual suspects, who are determined to make sure that Donald Trump is once again the Republican presidential nominee. Because the shape formed by #NeverTrump and #AlwaysTrump is a perfect horseshoe.
And that brings us to former Trump staffer and current “The View” token “conservative” Alyssa Farah Griffin, who had this to say on Twitter today before deciding that she should probably go ahead and limit her replies:
I want so badly to get excited about DeSantis but on so many issue I care so deeply about, he’s on the other side than me. The history books will remember who stood with Ukraine in a pivotal moment in history. https://t.co/jwusmBz59O

Even if you don’t agree entirely with Ron DeSantis’ position — and that’s fair, as at the very least he still has some things to clarify — it should go without saying that Alyssa’s tweet is a steaming load of BS.
Nobody. She’s not even fooling herself. No wonder she limited replies:
Congrats to Charlotte Clymer on making the cut with a dumb take of her own.
But back to Alyssa. We can only assume that she
does anyone really believe this broad “wants so badly to get excited about desantis?” like seriously? https://t.co/qx6VBaHSFa

Yeah, I don't think she's ever wanted to support DeSantis. https://t.co/oBkzq6V2nh

Certainly not once she realized she could make a lot more money being anti-DeSantis!
Please. Everyone knew you'd be NeverDeSantis because your paychecks from cable news and Disney depend on it. https://t.co/tfFOy49FBB

I want so badly to get excited about DeSantis but I'm getting paid to support my actual party, Democrats. – more truthful her https://t.co/Rdh0MPHy86

It pays to be a faux-conservative grifter. And you’d better believe that Alyssa Farah Griffin is gonna ride this train as far as she can go.
Mrs. Griffin's profession is to be a "conservative" who trashes Republicans. CNN and "The View" are going to get their money's worth over the next two years. https://t.co/N79qhR6LWT

"I want so badly to get excited a bout DeSantis but if I show that, I will be out of a job at ABC and the CNN invites stop."

See, Alyssa? Now that would’ve been an honest tweet.
Though, in a way, her actual tweet was honest, too. Albeit accidentally so.
