In case you missed the big news, Maryland Democratic congressman and election denier (for both 2000 and 2016 presidential elections) Jamie Raskin has been tapped to be the ranking Democratic member on the House Oversight Committee. Hot stuff! And well deserved. After all, he’s already emerged as a key Democratic power player thanks to his role as a valued member of the January 6 committee. It’s only fitting that he’d get rewarded for all of his hard work and efforts with a cushy Oversight committee spot.

Anyway, now that he’s an even more important guy than he was just a few days ago, it makes sense that he’d be a big get for reporters. Reporters like NBC News Capitol Hill correspondent Ryan Nobles, who was lucky enough to score an interview with Very Important Rep. Raskin all about the Very Important work of the January 6 committee when the interview was interrupted by a Very Important (and Exciting!) phone call:
