Elizabeth Warren does her part to spread the message of Native American Heritage Day

Yesterday was Thanksgiving, a day when families and friends gather together in the grand tradition of celebrating the occasion when the Pilgrims, newly arrived in the New World, feasted with Native Americans.

And today, the day after Thanksgiving, is Native American Heritage Day, which began when then-President Barack Obama signed the “The Native American Heritage Day Resolution 2009” into law:

In signing H.J. Res. 40 into law, President Obama stated, “I encourage every American to join me in observing Native American Heritage Day … It is also important for all of us to understand the rich culture, tradition, and history of Native Americans and their status today, and to appreciate the contributions that First Americans have made and will continue to make to our Nation.”

But Native American Heritage Day isn’t just about celebrating Native American culture, tradition, and history; it’s also about Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren making a very public ass of herself:

OK, but do we recognize the immense shamelessness of Sen. Elizabeth Warren? You bet your boots, we do.

Oh, she knows. She knows it well. That’s what makes her tweet so perfect.

Hey, don’t get us wrong … the Babylon Bee is great. But when it comes to making a mockery of Elizabeth Warren, they can’t hold a candle to Elizabeth Warren herself.

Most Americans alive today not only recognize the pride and immense contributions of Native peoples across the United States, but they also didn’t fake Native American ancestry in order to advance their career at the expense of smarter and more qualified people, deny for years that they’d done so, and then only cop to it when a DNA test proved conclusively that they’d been lying all those years, and then pretend to be sorry but not actually pretend that hard and not actually be sorry at all.

Elizabeth Warren did all that stuff, which is decidedly not respectful of the rich culture, tradition, and history of Native Americans. Which means she possesses at most 1/1024th of the normal amount of humility and shame, and that’s us being generous.

Maybe she should sit everything out. Not just this, but everything. Because she can’t take two steps without slamming her foot down on a rake.

That said, if she continues to choose to slam her feet down on rakes, we will absolutely not stand in her way. Never interrupt a shameless moron when they’re in the middle of making a mistake.

Happy Native American Heritage Day, Sen. Warren!
