Axios trumpets the news that the national average price for regular gas has finally dropped below 'the psychological barrier of $4'

It’s been a fabulous week for the Biden administration!

First, the FBI raided Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. Then, if you’ll recall, President Joe Biden proudly announced yesterday that “our economy had 0% inflation in the month of July.”

And today Axios is reporting that, according to AAA, the national average price per gallon of regular gas is $3.990. That officially puts it below $4.00 a gallon, which, as Axios reminds us, is the “the psychological barrier”:

Wow! Great news! After Joe Biden went to work depleting the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and consumer demand for gas fell during the summer (thanks in no small part to the fact that gas had become increasingly unaffordable for more and more Americans), we’re finally below that psychological barrier!

We’re not sure who decided that $4.00 a gallon was the psychological barrier, of course, but hey. You take the good news where you can get it, and Axios really, really wants this to be good news.

If there is an official psychological barrier, it’s not $4.00. At least not in this country.

Put the cake and Champagne away, Axios. And take off those party hats. You guys look ridiculous.

In any event, Axios seems to have hit their intellectual barrier.
