It’s been a fabulous week for the Biden administration!
First, the FBI raided Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. Then, if you’ll recall, President Joe Biden proudly announced yesterday that “our economy had 0% inflation in the month of July.”
And today Axios is reporting that, according to AAA, the national average price per gallon of regular gas is $3.990. That officially puts it below $4.00 a gallon, which, as Axios reminds us, is the “the psychological barrier”:
Early this morning, AAA posted the national average price of a gallon of regular gas at $3.990, dropping under the psychological barrier of $4. https://t.co/2RgFv9FjiC

Wow! Great news! After Joe Biden went to work depleting the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and consumer demand for gas fell during the summer (thanks in no small part to the fact that gas had become increasingly unaffordable for more and more Americans), we’re finally below that psychological barrier!

We’re not sure who decided that $4.00 a gallon was the psychological barrier, of course, but hey. You take the good news where you can get it, and Axios really, really wants this to be good news.
Axios reads minds now https://t.co/zikymwfwEv

Wait, what? When did we agree that there was a "psychological barrier" at $4? https://t.co/9tK9ZHXH1h
— Fusilli Spock (@awstar11) August 11, 2022
The psychological barrier is $3, not $4.
— Bonchie (@bonchieredstate) August 11, 2022
If there is an official psychological barrier, it’s not $4.00. At least not in this country.
Gas was under $2.40 per gallon when he took office. https://t.co/x6X1RSLdrc

It was $2.39 the day Biden took office…
Barely under $4 isn’t victory lap worthy.

Biden Admin: “We’re lowering gas prices!”
Reality: Gas prices are still up over 65% under the Biden Administration.

Put the cake and Champagne away, Axios. And take off those party hats. You guys look ridiculous.
It's more like an economic barrierhttps://t.co/TqIhEHQea0

Psst… it’s an ECONOMIC barrier. Tens of millions of Americans aren’t psychologically suffering, they’re economically suffering.

“Psychological barrier” my pocketbook doesn’t agree that it’s a psychology problem.

I just filled up at $5.59 a gallon here in California. We are a long way from your psychological barrier. https://t.co/1kEECgJ4or

In any event, Axios seems to have hit their intellectual barrier.
Ahh nothing like some sweet sweet propaganda with my morning coffee. Thanks Axios!
