Jen Psaki explains to Americans that they're actually 'paying less in real terms for gas' these days, thanks in no small part to Joe Biden

Earlier, we told you about PolitiFact fact-checking a claim that gas prices have risen under President Joe Biden. PolitiFact conceded that, while the claim was correct, it lacked “context.”

Apparently Jen Psaki also has a very difficult time acknowledging that gas has gotten more expensive. Such a difficult time, in fact, that she’s had to resort to blatant gaslighting — in an official White House statement, no less:

Check this out:

And as Americans are hitting the road, they are paying less in real terms for gas than they have on average over the last 15 years—and they’re paying about the same as they did in May 2018 and May 2019.

The Administration’s success in beating the pandemic and getting our economy back on track has led to increased demand for gas as the country re-opens. But, while prices have increased from the lows last year—as demand drastically dipped—prices at just about $3 per gallon are still well in-line with what they’ve been in recent decades.

And since last week, prices have already stabilized after a spike earlier this month, as the Colonial Pipeline is fully flowing, and the supply situation returns to normal. This is due in part to the administration’s aggressive, whole-of-government response to the unprecedented shutdown of that pipeline.

(Or maybe it’s due to that multimillion-dollar ransom payment Colonial Pipeline to the hackers. You know, the payment that Joe Biden aggressively didn’t want to talk about.)

It hasn’t?

But everything’s fine!

This whole spectacle is thoroughly revolting. Telling Americans who are actually experiencing the consequences of the Biden administration’s disastrous policies that things aren’t as bad as they are is insulting and thoughtless and downright cruel.

Which are pretty apt descriptors for the Biden administration and Democratic Party in general.
