Abdul El-Sayed beat Haley Stevens in the primary by hugging the far-left influencer crowd, and now that same crowd is busy smearing the woman he just defeated. Hasan Piker, the streamer El-Sayed rolled with on the campaign trail, took one look at Stevens defending herself as a proud Zionist and decided that raising both hands somehow equaled a Nazi salute. Even after chat corrected him, he still treated it like some kind of smoking gun.
Mike Rogers, the Republican running against El-Sayed, is asking the obvious question: how many times does this have to happen before El-Sayed cuts the cord?

Piker has a greatest-hits reel of comments that would make most candidates hide under a desk. El-Sayed keeps offering the same weak “I don’t agree with everything” line while still benefiting from the clicks and the energy. That’s not leadership. That’s a candidate who knows exactly which audience he needs and doesn’t want to risk losing it.
Stevens is a Democrat. She lost a primary. She still doesn’t deserve to be called a Nazi because she likes Israel. If that’s the standard now, then every Jewish Democrat who won’t chant the approved slogans is next. Rogers is right to press this. Michiganders are watching a Senate race that could decide control of the chamber, and one side is still tied to a guy who sees salutes in two raised hands.
I keep waiting for El-Sayed to draw a real line. So far he hasn’t. That tells you everything you need to know about who he thinks he represents. Michigan doesn’t need another politician who treats the loudest streamer in the room like a co-pilot. It needs someone who can tell the radicals to sit down. Rogers is making that case. El-Sayed is still hoping nobody notices the company he keeps.
