I just (sort of) watched another episode of the WNBA’s ongoing political theater and, honestly, the plot never changes.
It sucks. The end.
Atlanta Dream decided the National Anthem was optional.
Then they cheered on Stacey Abrams of all people.
THEN, they discriminated against a mom and her daughter ... for wearing a t-shirt celebrating women.
Then they lost.
HA HA HA HA HA HA
The irony writes itself.
Atlanta Dream refused to stand on the court for the National Anthem and then honored Stacey Abrams

They ended up LOSING to Indiana Fever 95-91

This is what happens when a sports league treats patriotism like an inconvenience and activism like the main event. The home squad stayed tucked away while the visitors stood proudly on the floor. Moments later, the same group that couldn’t be bothered to show basic respect for the country found plenty of time and energy to celebrate a politician whose brand is built on grievance and failed power grabs.
Priorities, right?
The result on the scoreboard felt almost poetic. When you spend more energy signaling your politics than preparing to compete, the universe tends to even things out. Indiana came ready to play basketball.
When a franchise chooses the opposite path and then drops the game, it only reinforces the perception that the WNBA is more interested in culture wars than championships.
Play the game. Respect the anthem. Leave the partisan theater for the campaign trail. It’s not that complicated.
