In the latest episode of "Democrats Eat Their Own: Parental Rights Edition," Virginia's Eugene Vindman — yes, that Vindman twin who rode the Ukraine impeachment wave into Congress—discovered that even a modest vote for notifying parents before schools play gender dress-up with kids is enough to turn your own base into a snarling mob.

C'mon, that joke had to be made.

Showing up in solidly red King George County to rally the troops, the first-term Dem instead got cornered by transgender activists and local party hacks who treated his "I'm a dad" defense like high treason against the sacred rainbow. Cue the hallway meltdown, reciprocal F-bombs, a dramatic exit, and the obligatory next-day apology for the unforgivable sin of not genuflecting hard enough.

At least two transgender women and one transgender man challenged Vindman over his May vote for GOP-backed legislation affecting transgender students. Some described being outed to unsupportive parents. Others questioned why transgender people should trust Democrats to protect them when members of the party sometimes support Republican measures targeting them.
Vindman said he was listening and had stayed despite “you all attacking me.”
“Shut the f*ck up,” the committee member responded.
