TIME Magazine naming Trump as their 'Person of the Year' seems like an interesting move by a Leftist rag to somehow safe face. Don't get me wrong, they did the same thing in 2016 when he won the presidency but this year is different.
See, back in 16 their cover of Trump was all dark and they called him the President of the Divided States. If nothing else, they used his 'award' as a way to trash him and make him look somehow like a villain for beating Hillary Clinton.
The cover they've done of him in 2024 is very different.
It's light, there's a glow around him AND just his name.
No digs.
No bizarre melty cartoons (remember that one?).
Just a lovely picture of him, honestly. In other words, not only did Trump beat Kamala and the Democrats, but he beat the mainstream media as well.
There's not only these two covers, but several covers throughout 2024 that sort of show them figuring out what was happening. They were still behind and still focused on hurting him more than helping him (although if you look, that sort of changed when he was shot), but there is definitely a gradual shift.

Unfortunately, for TIME, we're not sure they can save themselves as the mainstream media is spiraling downward more and more every day. As Elon Musk is so fond of saying, individuals have become the media, alternative media is in charge now.
And like so many others, TIME is late to the party.
