Yeaaah, dunno about that: Blue check pushing The Atlantic to hire Weekly Standard writers TRIPS over Kevin Williamson

As Twitchy reported earlier, after 23 years, The Weekly Standard is sadly closing its doors. And while it’s good that people are trying to think of opportunities for many of their outstanding writers, this suggestion from Will Rahn didn’t go over so well.

The Atlantic, really? Yeah … no.

If I were EIC of, say, The Atlantic, I’d be trying to hire as many Weekly Standard writers as possible. Obviously Andy Ferguson and Matt Labash, but also the young talent like @byrdinator and @aliceblloyd

Maybe he missed it when The Atlantic tried to hire a popular (and brilliant) conservative earlier this year and the Left all but set fire to them online and said popular conservative was eventually let go.

Might want to talk to Kevin Williamson about that…

Serious question: Why would any conservative want to work for @TheAtlantic or @JeffreyGoldberg after the Kevin D. Williamson fiasco? Goldberg is a gelding. He has zero editorial courage.

I dunno, the way they treated Kevin Williamson should give any Conservative pause before jumping over there. Just because you be hired just to attack fellow Conservatives, not report on what Conservatism actually is.
