We’ve gotta admit, we are impressed (not in a good way) with the level of gymnastics it took for Vox to make this particular argument about gun violence.
Truth be told, you’d have to be really, really desperate to exploit the tragedy of suicide to push this argument but hey, what can we say, Vox is gonna Vox.

Then this from the same story:
Nearly 40,000 people were killed by guns in 2017. Nearly 24,000 of those deaths, or almost 60 percent, were suicides, and more than 14,000, or nearly 37 percent, were homicides. The rest were accidents and deaths through legal interventions (such as police shootings).
This was pretty damn awful, even for Vox.

This article is clearly an agenda-driven "interpretation of death statistics.
For example …
Over half of U.S. gun deaths are *suidicide*.
There are about half as many gun-related *homicides* as auto deaths.

Deaths of despair include fatal overdoses. Fatal overdoses has more than doubled since 2005 and passed suicides in 2014! Vox should be ashamed to dismiss mental health and write that gun control should be the priority to reduce suicide. Agenda over solution is why liberals lose.
