Senator Marco Rubio has been tireless in pointing out and highlighting voter issues (aka illegal votes and what looks like voter fraud) in Florida, and for whatever reason, CNN analyst Susan Hennessey thinks this is in someway Rubio doing Putin’s bidding.
Don’t look at us like that, we didn’t write it.
She did.
Comments like these undermine trust in democratic institutions far more effectively than any adversary could possibly hope to. From the lips of a United States senator, it is Putin’s wildest dream come true. https://t.co/Uj53zkfpWA

Yes, we’re sure Putin is pulling for DeSantis and Scott because they’re all part of his evil COMMUNIST PLAN …
Analyst.
K.
If your hot take is “Marco Rubio is doing Putin’s bidding,” you are a first class idiot. https://t.co/MErMtG6Vgu

It doesn’t seem like a super well-thought-out analysis, but you know, CNN.
So, it’s Putin’s dream when our elections don’t run smoothly, but also Putin’s dream when people point out that our elections don’t run smoothly. That’s a rather convenient position.

I’m yet to see a single national reporter/figure do anything but embarrass themself on this topic, unlike the local press here in Florida, which has been fair and informative and entirely non-partisan.
— Charles C. W. Cooke (@charlescwcooke) November 11, 2018
It’s been exceptionally bad. Local news is actually covering the story while the national press is pushing a narrative.
Shocking, right?
Oh look, here’s the local media in Miami pointing out how you’re completely wrong.https://t.co/7Wj7KIhbXV

See what we mean?
Umm, no. The behavior of Snipes is what undermines the trust in the institutions
— Jewtropolis Yitz (@MeerkatYitz) November 11, 2018
But see, Putin is working to undermine Snipes or something … you know what, we can’t even.
It isn't the actual untrustworthiness of this particular democratic institution you find fault with. Remarkable.
— Dan (@DanLtcR) November 11, 2018
It is remarkable, and not in a good way.
So, your argument, is a US Senator should just ignore illegal votes and the actions of the SOE, so Putin isn't happy? Are you seriously stupid.
— marnes (@marnes) November 11, 2018
Yes.
It's kinda embarrassing that you feel comfortable saying that after what the Democrats and the media have been doing the last 2 years.
— Jake R. (@jaker1419) November 11, 2018
So, the problem isn't illegal votes being submitted and the possibility that there are far more, it's the Senator pointing it out to make sure the vote is fair and legal?
— John Hawkins (@johnhawkinsrwn) November 11, 2018
Well OBVS.
Duh.
Broward County partisan hacks are trying to steal an election, and you're complaining about Rubio calling them out on it.
— Gary HokieHawk (@grsvt81) November 12, 2018
While also claiming that Rubio is doing Putin’s bidding.
You're 100% correct. Election fraud is the worse thing that can happen to this country. Shame on Democrats in Broward County for their actions.
— Brooks (@Brooks_the_Lab) November 11, 2018
So you’re critical of a senator pointing out failures of the election process, but are cool with those failures. Got it.
— Ex-GOP Greg (@Flying59Vette) November 12, 2018
Unless of course, the votes they keep magically finding were for Republicans, then she’d be claiming that Putin was trying to rig the election.
You laugh but we’re not exactly joking.
This morning, Susan seemed super defensive that most people on Twitter thought her take was garbage. Hey, at least Jennifer Rubin agreed with her, right? Ha!
GOP twitterati thinking they're dunking on someone by tendentiously misreading a comment criticizing pols who exacerbate public mistrust by spinning any election issue they can, however irresponsibly & noting it hurts the US more than any foreign adversary … is pretty perfect.
— Susan Hennessey (@Susan_Hennessey) November 12, 2018
Twitterati.
Someone seems cranky – maybe she should smile more.
