We read a good deal of shady, disingenuous tripe from politicians on Twitter, especially with the midterms only a week out, but this BS from Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum (Democrat, of course) stands out from the rest.
And not in a good way.
Gillum: DeSantis "authored a book justifying slavery" https://t.co/ZkcIbJPhfh pic.twitter.com/a6mUmZChZ1

From The Hill:
Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum (D) said late Tuesday that he believes his Republican opponent, former Rep. Ron DeSantis (Fla.), has given “too much harbor to racists and xenophobes and anti-Semites.”
“He’s spoken at conferences with them,” Gillum, the mayor of Tallahassee, said when questioned by “The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah about his opponent being dogged by allegations of racism.
“He authored a book justifying slavery,” Gillum added, apparently referring to DeSantis’s 2011 book, “Dreams From Our Founding Fathers: First Principles in the Age of Obama.”
Wow, this was a crock of crap.
Charles C.W. Cooke said it far better:
This is an extraordinary lie. DeSantis wrote a book praising the Constitution. Nowhere in that book does he do anything but condemn slavery. https://t.co/SEEpDiw4P5

But Gillum has a narrative to push and the media is bound and determined to help him push it. Like ‘The Hill’, Gillum knows most people will read this headline, take his word for it, and run off shaking their tiny fists accusing DeSantis of justifying slavery.
And then they’ll claim it has something to do with Trump.
Gross, right?
It’s Gillum. He’s a liar. The sad part is that his lies and discretions have been enabled, so he actually feels confident to utter abject nonsense and expects to go unchallenged. Sorry, marxist…there’s a much bigger spotlight on your act, now!

The book is getting a flood of negative (1 star) reviews for "racism" on Amazon following the publishing of this hit piece.

Shocker.
Democrat messaging these days seems to be exclusively aimed at uncritical thinkers, the pathologically suggestible, and people who believe all facts come pre-checked.

Gillum- stop lying. Read the book

All they have left are lies. Their policies have destroyed America for the past 50 years and everyone sees it now

It’s tough to campaign on raising taxes and stomping on inherent rights so yeah, they’re sticking with identity politics and the ‘everyone who doesn’t vote for Democrats is racist’ narrative.
Let’s see how that works out for them.
