For a Radio Station to stop playing @kanyewest music because of his views is a violation of his First Amendment Rights. You can't just silence someone because you don't like their Free Speech. Thoughts?

It is not in anyway, shape, or form a violation of Kanye’s First Amendment rights for any station to decide they don’t want to play his music anymore. The First only pertains to the government punishing someone for their speech or thoughts.

They didn't silence him, they took away one of his platforms. 1A doesn't guarantee everyone has a platform.

Is it pathetic? Yes.

Weak? Very much yes.

Against his First Amendment rights? No.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but the United States #Constitution only applies to government, not private business.

So yes, the radio station has the freedom to play who they want for whatever reason they want.

The FCC has rules, but whether that is legal is a separate issue.

Well, I would've been pretty happy if radio had stopped playing The Dixie Chicks. If it's a privately owned station, they can do what they want.
