This morning, this editor’s 10-year-old son sat down, looked her right in the face and said, ‘Mom, what is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?’
Totally happened.
Right after he grumbled that he had to go brush his teeth and turn his shirt right-side out.
When will people stop using ‘woke’ children to prove their points about Donald Trump?
My 6 year old watching @Morning_Joe with me just said @morningmika looks worried – I said “she is” he said “it’s @realDonaldTrump ‘s fault right?” Kids know Trump is trouble . Why don’t republicans in Congress?

Sure, Nicolle.
We totes believe you.
Where can I read your six-year-old’s independent analyses of the political scene?
— Charles C. W. Cooke (@charlescwcooke) April 12, 2018
That would be a fascinating read indeed.
I feel sorry for any kid forced to watch Morning Joe. It borders on child abuse.

Except we’re pretty sure this didn’t happen but not an unfair point. Why would any six-year-old kiddo have any interest in watching the news? Heck, this editor is nearly 45 and most days can’t bear to watch too much of it.
I find it annoying when anyone pretends that our young kids don’t just react entirely to our own attitudes, and reflect our own views.

Word.
Except he's not the one holding up the reactions of his own child as incisive political insight.

My son is two. He copies everything I do and picks up immediately on my attitudes and mood. To pretend that he is making independent choices that should be valued by adults—as political commentary, no less—is absurd.
— Charles C. W. Cooke (@charlescwcooke) April 12, 2018
Wow, Charles’ kiddo is already two? Time FLIES!
And he’s spot on, while our children are their own little people, they do learn much of who they are from watching their parents.
My 7 year old Lab was reading your post and barked the word “bullsh*t” …. crazy right? https://t.co/1gq7K3Q7Th

Gotta watch out for those Lucky Charms, man.

Heh.
My 7 year old read this tweet over my shoulder and just asked "why do Democratic party operatives pretend to be 'journalists' and why are they such liars"?
I said because most of them are not that bright and easily misled.
Then we laughed and laughed.— ❄️ Brian ⛄️ (@applecharlie5) April 12, 2018
HAAAAAA.
Alternatively, anti-Trumpers are functioning at a first-grade intellectual level — though I'm sure your little guy is above average.
— Daniel Lee (@RealDanLee) April 12, 2018
Fair.
That explains a lot. MSNBC gets their in-depth political analysis from 6-year-olds.
— RightWingM ?? (@TheRightWingM) April 12, 2018
Oof.
I don’t believe you.
