Well ... BYE: CNN frets because Dreamers 'threaten' to leave the US if DACA deal isn't reached

You’ve got to wonder what CNN thought would happen when they wrote this story. Not to be ‘mean’ but if a DACA deal isn’t reached then yes, Dreamers and other illegal immigrants will leave the US, that’s sort of how it’s supposed to work. *shrug*

From CNN:

Alex and Daniela Velez have come to peace with the difficult choice they will need to make if Congress doesn’t reach a deal for those covered by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program by its March 5 deadline: They will leave the country.

“Alex and I are both over this [DACA situation],” said Daniela, who is 24 years old. “If DACA ends, I will leave with Alex. I will close my business, leave work and school.”

The Velez sisters are two of nearly 689,000 young adults who are currently protected from deportation under DACA. The Obama-era program allowed young Dreamers who were brought to the United States as children to come out from the shadows and enroll in college, obtain driver’s licenses and legally secure jobs.

Come out of the shadows, that’s adorable. DACA actually was a sloppy way to pander for votes that ultimately set these young people up to fail, but go ahead and keep pretending what Obama did was somehow noble.

As expected, tweeps were less than concerned that Dreamers would leave the country:

People are even offering to donate money to assist in their efforts to leave the country.

Imagine how much better things might be if Obama hadn’t gone around Congress and actually worked to make and pass real immigration reform.

But it’s Trump’s fault, duh.

Probably NOT the way CNN wanted this story to go.

Truth hurts.
