Trump has been demanding for months that schools reopen, and on that he seems to have been largely right. Schools, especially elementary schools, do not appear to have been major sources of coronavirus transmission, and remote learning is proving to be a catastrophe for many low-income children.
Yet America is shutting schools — New York City announced Wednesday that it was closing schools in the nation’s largest school district — even as it allows businesses like restaurants and bars to operate. What are our priorities?
Unions are their priorities.
And playing political games with our kids.

It was more important to Democrats to beat Trump than the general welfare of our children and the schools.
Note, this is typically where we share tweets of people responding to the tweet we’re writing about, but most of the tweets on this ‘thread’ are just Leftists losing their minds and screaming that Trump was never right and it’s horrible to try and keep our kids educated with the pandemic because … we’re not entirely sure why.
But their ridiculous reaction just proves his point.
We should never have shut down our schools. The solution should never have been more dangerous than the problem.
And even the New York Times knows it.
