As Twitchy reported earlier, Twitter got its britches all bunched up over the AOC parody account (@AOCPress) and suspended it. And almost like clockwork, The Bulwark’s token liberal, Molly Jong-Fast, was b*tching and moaning because Conservatives were understandably frustrated that yet another popular right-leaning account had been suspended.
This @AOC “parody” account was incredibly mean and often retweeted as fact. Now conservatives are absolutely furious that it’s been taken down. Imagine if there was a “parody” account making fun of a young conservative congressmen with the same zeal? They’d be apoplectic. https://t.co/NMaAZIKfRy

So Molly is saying the @AOCpress account was retweeted as fact because it was too much like AOC in the same breath where she called it ‘incredibly mean.’ And maybe she missed it but there are lots and lots of parodies of GOP elected officials …
You mean all the Devin Nunes parody accounts? That aren’t even labeled parody?
— (((tedfrank))) (@tedfrank) May 7, 2019
BUT THAT’S DIFFERENT.
He’s a ?. Unless Devin is a ?, the parody is Pretty clear

The @AOCpress account LITERALLY had the word parody in their name but hey, whatevs, Molly. We know, ORANGE MAN BAD.
Incredibly mean?? I think the problem was it was far too accurate and most people couldn't tell the difference.

Ding ding ding.
You don't need parody accounts for that, Molly. pic.twitter.com/vP1T7hnD7Q

I don't think she realizes she's saying the parody was indistinguishable from the real thing. https://t.co/0ue1auUI5H

There are many things she doesn't realize.

What he said.
3 things you cannot parody:
1. Professional wrestling
2. Heavy metal
3. The #Left@MollyJongFast proves #3 again and again— #LearnToCode (@LearnTo73637432) May 7, 2019
I don't believe "mean" violates the Twitter terms of service.
I'm going to let you in on a secret: In America, we are a republic. As such, our "leaders" are in for mockery.

I have yet to see a "kind" parody account on this platform.

brb creating Cay Jaruso account.

If we rolled our eyes any further back in our heads we’d hurt ourselves.
You mean like Pete Davidson?
— Federalist Musket?? (@Patriot_Musket) May 7, 2019
"Incredibly mean"? Are you joking?
Democrats vent their unrelenting hatred and rage at Trump virtually non-stop, in all mediums, especially on Twitter. Talk about a double standard!Getting your feelings hurt by a parody account is no basis for banning it, nor cheering its ban.
— The Department of No (@SantasTavern) May 7, 2019
It is if you’re a Democrat, apparently.
A successful "parody" account of a conservative congressman would require the left to be funny. Not exactly a skillset they possess these days.
And there was nothing mean about the fake Ocasio-Cortez account. The left just can't handle being mocked.

‘Nuff said.
