As Twitchy reported, last night Bret Baier had an EXCEPTIONAL interview with James Comey where he really held the former FBI director’s feet to the fire, especially when Comey said he didn’t know who paid for the Steele dossier.
Brit Hume offered up this ‘assist’ on Twitter:
Comey’s claims to @BretBaier that A: he didn’t leak and B: he doesn’t know to this day that the HRC campaign and DNC financed the dossier simply are not credible. He even claimed the GOP started the funding of the dossier. That was debunked many months ago.

‘His claims are not credible,’ is a nice way for Brit to say Comey is full of bull.
But we all knew that already.
Might be right on A and B, but C is incorrect. The dossier was originally funded by a GOP candidate and then HRC purchased it from that person.

Dude.
No.
No. Steele was not even hired until the GOP-connected funding had ended. Work on his dossier only began after the DNC and HRC campaigns had hired Fusion GPS.

Those pesky facts again!
My apologies, I thought it was originally funded by a GOP contributor and Steele had used some of the original research to compile the final result.
You were correct on A, B and C! Lol— Adam Tampa Orlando NYC III (@AdamOrlandoTam1) April 27, 2018

Wait, what?! A debate where people get along after the fact? Well, THAT’S something you don’t see every day, especially on Twitter.
Well done.
Gee, Brit, you think he might be a liar? Has a 20 year track record that proves he is a fixer and bag man.

I think Bret did a great job

He did indeed.
We agree.
He’s in CYA mode.

Which seems a constant for many a so-called ‘public servant’ who worked with the Obama administration.
