LOSER: New poll numbers are out about a citizenship question, and Democrats should probably rethink their strategy

According to a new poll by The Economist and YouGov, an absolute majority of Americans want the question of citizenship to be included in the 2020 census, and only 32 percent do not want it included.

The question on the survey was straightforward, “Do you think the federal government should or should not ask people whether they are American citizens as part of the 2020 census?”

To which there was a 21-point discrepancy in favor of should ask over should not ask.

As Paul Bedard points out in his piece, the opportunity to add a citizenship question may still be a possibility for the Trump administration:

The Supreme Court has rejected including the question in a form the administration proposed but left the door open to another version. And Trump is considering changing the version.

Someone might want to alert Chuck Schumer.

And Kamala Harris, who seems to think there should be no limit to the people counted in the United States census.
