As he tends to do, Bernie Sanders started waxing eloquent about the crisis in America caused by the billionaire class, especially when it comes to elections.
One of the great crises facing our democracy is power of the billionaire class over our political process. The needs of ordinary people are ignored when the very rich and their Super PACs buy elections. We need to overturn Citizens United and move to public funding of elections.

The problem with Sanders’ argument is that it is just not reality.
Like, at all.
This is a dubious claim. The rich sure didn’t buy the 2018 midterm. And who had the most $$ in the ‘16 GOP primary? Jeb Bush. Trump had plenty of his own, but spent very little. Hillary? She had more money, but Bernie raised plenty. It was not why he lost. https://t.co/EM3b5JwF0E

The political playbook of socialists such as Bernie and AOC is nothing new.
They paint millionaires and billionaires as responsible for all of the problems in society, and they don’t really like facts all that much.
