I almost let this one go. Almost.
Everyone -- at least all normal people -- was having such a great time this weekend celebrating America's 250th birthday that it seemed like a shame to dampen that exuberance and enthusiasm like a rainstorm on the National Mall (a rainstorm which thankfully held off for the evening to make way for the greatest fireworks show in history).

Who wants to even think about stepping on that unbelievable moment?
Not me.
Sadly, not everyone was feeling the patriotism. And it was only the people whom you would most suspect: leftist celebrities.

Sarah Jessica Parker leads star-studded reading of 'On Tyranny' to counter Donald Trump's America 250https://t.co/PLTUEyias3

Sigh. Here we go again.
At least they're not singing John Lennon this time and torturing our ears.
I am not going to let this one go, though. After a respectable amount of distance from Independence Day 250, this needs to be called out. For several reasons.
First of all, July 4 was not 'Donald Trump's America 250.' It was America's birthday. Calling it Donald Trump's holiday shows how broken The Hill and these celebrities are, yes. But more importantly, it is an insult to America, our founders, our history, and every citizen celebrating today.
But it gets worse.
A star-studded cast released a reading of Timothy Snyder’s popular anti-propagandist book “On Tyranny” as counterprogramming to the White House-led celebrations for America’s 250th on Saturday.
'White House-led celebrations.' There's the insult to America again.
But Snyder's book is not 'anti-propagandist.' It IS the propaganda. He wrote it in 2017 because of the 'threats to democracy' from the first Trump administration. (Feel free to roll your eyes into the back of your head; I did.)
Seeing as how we had an entirely different administration between Trump's first and second terms, if that's tyranny, I don't think the Bad Orange Man is doing tyranny right.
And Snyder's book is certainly not popular, except within leftist media and Hollywood bubbles. Ninety-nine percent of Americans have never heard of it, and are better off for that incognizance.
As for the 'star-studded cast,' well, you don't even need to see the list of names to know who they all were.
The video, which was narrated by Sarah Jessica Parker, featured celebrities like Mark Ruffalo, Joan Baez, Kimberlé Crenshaw, Margaret Atwood, Leslie Odom Jr., Ted Danson and others.
Wow. I'm blinded by the limelight of these 'stars,' most of whom haven't been relevant in a generation.
Of course, there was plenty of reaction on X, mocking these self-important charlatans for their latest act of ideological masturbation.

A bunch of people who are terrified because people have forgotten their names.

For Thousands of years, everyone looked down on actors as the absolute filth of the earth...they were seen as self indulgent baffoons. Only the last 100 years have we made the mistake in making them think their disconnected and privileged opinions matter. https://t.co/8mYaAmHHEz

Actors were once considered lower than prostitutes. Which is kind of unfair. It turns out that they are pretty much exactly the same as prostitutes.

We don't live in a tyrannical country, so ... yes?
Then again, we didn't live in one even before they rehearsed their lines and read another fictional script, so there's that.

Ahem.
But in the ultimate insult and act of hubris, the irrelevant Parker had the audacity to compare herself and her fellow has-beens to the Founding Fathers in their resistance to 'tyranny.'
He's such a tyrant they have to meet in secret and use false identities...hold it.....I've been handed a note......apparently they're doing it publically without fear of prosecution.

Odd for subjects of a tyrant... https://t.co/1faQV0BePI
I am old enough to remember when the last administration -- the one that all of these prancing, clapping monkeys embraced -- told American citizens that they couldn't go to restaurants, have jobs, or attend schools, and even threatened to withhold medical care if we didn't obey them.
Here’s a great clip about tyranny that Sarah somehow missed pic.twitter.com/OVnAxmi1Rh

Huh. I don't recall the protests from Hollywood elitists then.
And the few actors who DID protest Biden's tyrannical COVID measures, like Nick Searcy, James Woods, Matthew Marsden, and even lefty Tim Robbins, were denounced and shunned as heretics.
She lives in NYC which just elected a foreign born Muslim communist as mayor. Maybe she should sit this one out. 🤔 https://t.co/EV3pCYuX8l

Say, isn't that NYC mayor shutting down escalators, painting subway cars with the flag of a terrorist regime in the Middle East, and warning people not to use their air conditioning during a heat wave?
But sure. Trump is the tyrant. OK.
I understand some people’s frustration with President Trump. I was not a big fan of President Biden. But do we really need a counter protest on America’s 250th anniversary? Maybe wait a couple of days while the rest of USA celebrates

I am proud and grateful to be an American. https://t.co/qijHI0uaLG
They can't do it.
And that is why I couldn't let it go.
I don't care that they are so thoroughly and irrevocably broken that all they think about is 'Trump, Trump, TRUUUUUUUUMP!' 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year. That's a 'them' problem.
But I DO mind that they disrespect our nation's history, the bravery and the courage of the men who created the greatest country on Earth -- at risk of their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor -- and 320 million Americans today who just want to celebrate our national pride FOR ONE DAY, without having to hear these preening peacocks shout, 'LOOK AT ME!'
That makes it my problem and everyone's problem who loves the United States of America.
In a way, though, I suppose I should be true to my moniker and be grateful that they felt the narcissistic need to do all of this on Independence Day. They are simply showing more and more Americans who they are.
And who they are is a collection of toddlers throwing tantrums and screaming about how much they hate this country. The only country on Earth where they could have achieved the wealth and influence that they have. And the only country that will allow them to rant their incoherent hatred ad nauseam.
If that's tyranny, then I'll take tyranny every day of the week and twice on the Fourth of July.
