To a large degree, formerly late-night "comedy" shows have turned into TDS TV, and Jimmy Kimmel's program is right at the top with Colbert when it comes to peddling anti-Trump hate poorly disguised as "jokes."
One example from Kimmel came late last week when he was doing a WHCD parody speech and said this, much to the delight of the barking seals in his liberal audience:
Jimmy Kimmel started the roast on the latest episode of his show by stating, “Welcome to the 2026 White House Correspondents’ Dinner! Look at you all dressed up in formal wear — dresses, tuxedos — I haven’t seen this much black since every page of the Trump-Epstein Files.”
Later on, a clip of Melania Trump appeared, and Kimmel took a jibe at her by commenting, “Our First Lady, Melania, is here. Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.”
A day or two later another leftist whacky tried to assassinate Trump.
As Sam wrote about earlier, Melania had this to say about Kimmel:
Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.

People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to…
Brian Stelter finds that rhetoric very problematic, uncalled for and even dangerous.

I'm referring of course to Melania's remarks and not Kimmel's:

Now we're right back to where we were last September, with the government (in this case the president's wife using her @FLOTUS account) pressuring Disney's ABC to punish Jimmy Kimmel over a comment on his show. Another free speech test is underway. pic.twitter.com/v08Sd5zkhl

Now imagine Stelter's take if Biden were president and faced multiple assassination attempts, Greg Gutfeld "joked" about his wife becoming a widow and then Jill slammed Gutfeld. I'd bet anything that Stelter would have joined in saying that Gutfeld should be fired.
Here's the video in question if you haven't seen it:

Kimmel's right up there with James Carville when it comes to the level of TDS.
The First Lady wants Jimmy Kimmel to stop being an asshole and tone down the hateful and incendiary rhetoric that only increases division and hate, leading to political violence. https://t.co/FsuqIZcVkp

She wants them to stop protecting him.

Did you read what she wrote? https://t.co/K0fJjoT7r0
I can't help but notice that "journalists" like Brian only become free speech absolutists when somebody on the Left says something awful about somebody on the Right.
The question is, why don’t you? Why haven’t you called out his hateful rhetoric? You’re the media guy aren’t you?

If the political roles were reversed I have no doubt Stelter's take would be quite different.
