As Sam wrote about yesterday morning, Democrat Sen. Chris Murphy was spotted doing his thing again. That "thing" is basically cheering for enemies of the United States just because he hates President Trump so much.
It started with Murphy passing along claims about what's happening on the Strait of Hormuz in an obvious attempted swipe at Trump and morale boost for the Iranian regime:
awesome https://t.co/nRj1trI3rF
— Chris Murphy 🟧 (@ChrisMurphyCT) April 20, 2026
Yep, that's a sitting U.S. senator right there.
At that point, Murphy claimed he was just being sarcastic in trying to take a jab at Trump:
JUST IN: Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy doesn't say he has any regrets after furious backlash to his X post calling reports of Iranian ships slipping past the U.S. naval blockade "awesome."

"I guess I just have to be more careful about sarcasm on Twitter," Murphy exclusively told… pic.twitter.com/MB6nuZjY9V
Whether Murphy was being sarcastic or not isn't the point.
The problem is that he was spreading BS regime propaganda:
“So that was just Iranian propaganda?”
— Fox News (@FoxNews) April 21, 2026
“Yes, absolutely.”@TreyYingst reports there’s no evidence any vessels left Iranian ports or moved through the Strait of Hormuz — undercutting the false narrative about 26 Iranian ships slipping past a U.S. blockade. | @foxandfriends pic.twitter.com/jnUB9yoSFK
The lefty senator from Connecticut was spreading Iranian regime propaganda, all while calling Trump a liar. Projection is his thing!
Murphy's plea of “sarcasm” doesn’t even matter when the point is that a U.S. senator was parroting lies from the world's number one state sponsor of terrorism. And you know what? At some point before too long he'll do it all over again. Suffice to say we don't have some of America's best serving in Congress.
