The White House and Kamala Harris have been scrambling after President Biden called Trump supporters "garbage." The media is of course trying to help Team Biden (and Harris) contain the fallout by spinning what was said as being part of Biden's "lifelong stuttering" problem. The media's level of hackery couldn't be more comically ridiculous if they tried.
Meanwhile, people like Neera Tanden are pretending Biden never said what he clearly said:
This is a lie based on a misquote. https://t.co/JwMXvNqHIS

This is just great coming six days before the election!

They really are. The people who have been calling Trump and his supporters Hitler-loving Nazis for the last few weeks are now trying to convince everybody that Biden didn't mean to call them "garbage," all while Harris, who did nothing but help perpetuate the "Nazi" talk, is pretending to disavow what Biden said. What a great "closing argument" with the election six days away!
I've seen some comments wondering if Biden's at least partly this on purpose as punishment for the Dems shoving him out the door. After all, whenever Harris has tried to distance herself from Biden admin policies, Joe seems to go out of his way to point out that they've been a close team the whole way.
Maybe Biden's just settling some scores on his way out:
