The latest January 6th Commission “bombshell” of Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony eventually blew up in the faces of committee members after Secret Service agents who were actually with Trump in the car that day said they’d be willing to testify under oath that what Hutchinson claimed never happened.
The committee’s theatrics — specifically in this case regarding Rep. Liz Cheney — has gotten to be too much for the Washington Examiner’s Byron York:
When Liz Cheney got to the tune-in-for-the-next-exciting-episode portion of the recent J6 committee hearing, starring Cassidy Hutchinson, Cheney read two examples of what she suggested was witness tampering by TrumpWorld. 1/6

It’s quite clear the committee has been coached by producers:
First, Cheney read 'how one witness described phone calls from people interested in that witness' testimony.' Then, Cheney quoted from a description of 'a call received by one of our witnesses,' in that witness' own words. 2/6

Cheney offered no details. No names, no timing, no context, no story, no nothing. Except that it was very, very concerning. And tune in for the next episode! 3/6

So what do we learn now? That both examples were from the same witness–and that that very witness was sitting right in front of Cheney the whole time! It was Cassidy Hutchinson. 4/6

Cheney could have asked Hutchinson about it right then and there. But she instead chose to do the TV tease and leave everybody hanging. 5/6

Does this charade have to continue? Why doesn't the committee just say what it knows? Fire the TV producer and say what it knows. Read @woodruffbets and @kyledcheney reporting here: https://t.co/uZ66Z2J9nb 6/6 End.

The committee’s goal isn’t to get to the truth, as evidenced by the “show trial” nature of the hearings, but rather to keep a narrative going.
End this trainwreck! https://t.co/f4OyejvnQt
