Last week on MSNBC, Elie Mystal, “justice correspondent” for The Nation, said that Republican Sen. Josh Hawley has been trying to incite violence against President Biden’s Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson. How so? By having the audacity to scrutinize her past decisions on the bench:

“What Josh Hawley is doing — let’s be very clear — what Josh Hawley is doing when he tries to do this is he’s trying to get her killed. He is trying to get violence done against a Supreme Court nominee,” said Mystal. That’s the same “justice correspondent” who was on “The View” recently and called the Constitution “kind of trash.”
George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley heard that and has some thoughts:
MSNBC commentator and Nation’s Justice Correspondent Elie Mystal recently accused Sen. Josh Hawley of trying to kill Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. His weapon: a question about her prior legal positions…https://t.co/eJnAEBNnrv

According to the Left, what was done to Brett Kavanaugh was a necessary part of the process, but a Republican scrutinizing a SCOTUS nominee’s record is akin to an attempt to incite violence.
Turley continued:
…Hawley’s murderous plot was due to his interest in Jackson’s record on the U.S. Sentencing Commission. Without any push back from the host Tiffany Cross, Mystal explained that just discussing Jackson’s positions on sentencing is an effort to have her killed…

…That type of logic makes "six degrees from Kevin Bacon" look like a DNA test. Yet, it is all fair game on MSNBC to show that raising a nominee's actual record is a homicidal plot.
