Shortly before the presidential election in 2020, then-President Trump was interviewed on “60 Minutes” and told Leslie Stahl that Biden was involved in a “scandal.” Stahl, instinctively reacting the way most of the media were back then to claims about a Hunter Biden scandal involving his father, laughed off Trump’s claim in a way the Democrats must have really appreciated:

Stahl was obviously among “journalists” who were on the “claims of Hunter Biden’s laptop and its contents are disinformation” train. But finally, over a year after the election, the NY Times reported something that previously got people and outlets suspended from social media for spreading “disinformation”:
People familiar with the investigation said prosecutors had examined emails between Mr. Biden, Mr. Archer and others about Burisma and other foreign business activity. Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.
In some of the emails, Mr. Biden displayed a familiarity with FARA, and a desire to avoid triggering it.
In one email to Mr. Archer in April 2014, Mr. Biden outlined his vision for working with Burisma. In the email, Hunter Biden indicated that the forthcoming announcement of a trip to Ukraine by Vice President Biden — who is referred to in the email as “my guy,” but not by name — should “be characterized as part of our advice and thinking — but what he will say and do is out of our hands.”
Add it all up and Sen. Ted Cruz says it’s time for some media accountability:
How would Lesley Stahl have responded differently if she were the actual press secretary for the Biden campaign?
And now, EVERY WORD Trump said to her has proven true.
Will 60 Minutes issue an apology? Will they explain why they refuse to be actual journalists? https://t.co/sBjqT1sLQS

We won’t hold our breath waiting for any apologies, let alone any accountability.
