Remember at the start of this year when the chair of the Consumer Product Safety Commission was spotted toying with ideas about banning gas stoves and the backpedal was almost immediate?
The ensuing “no we’re not planning to ban gas stoves” claim from the CPSC was all many in the media needed to label any claims otherwise as misinformation. But you know what happened next:
A new Biden administration “efficiency” rule would effectively ban half of all gas stoves on the U.S. market from being sold, according to an Energy Department projection.

In other words, yeah, there are people in government who would love to ban gas stoves (not that they’ll be getting rid of their own, however).
