Tesla CEO Elon Musk officially purchased Twitter yesterday and almost immediately fired some top executives.
Here’s who were let go:
The Twitter executives who were fired on Thursday include Parag Agrawal, the chief executive; Ned Segal, the chief financial officer; Vijaya Gadde, the top legal and policy executive; and Sean Edgett, the general counsel, said two people with knowledge of the matter. At least one of the executives who was fired was escorted out of Twitter’s office, they said.
But one CNBC reporter outside Twitter headquarters also tweeted about a couple of “visibly shaken” data engineers who said they’d been fired. At that point she then figured it might be a good idea to find out of they had actually worked there:

“Report first, ask questions later”? Ah, journalism!

This seems a bit “cart before the horse” but better late than never:
fyi -some questions being raised about whether these are really twitter employees.

However, according to The Verge people are trolling the media outside Twitter HQ:
It's not happening.
These people don't work at Twitter, @verge confirms.https://t.co/yyK16jqK4N https://t.co/CAqVUI8vNV

Reporters are so eager to dunk on the @elonmusk @Twitter deal that they aren't even attempting to verify anything before posting it. These two are not/were not Twitter employees. Other journalists did some due diligence but @dee_bosa couldn't be bothered: https://t.co/wcd396FVZL https://t.co/iZggUiCYhj

There are currently over 8,000 retweets of the original tweet that apparently contains false information.
