Sadly it only takes seconds from the time a horrific tragedy is reported for politicians and many in the media to start tripping over each other to assign blame even before all the facts are known. CNN’s John Harwood is among them and tweeted this assist to the Democrat narrative, all in the name of “journalism”:
to state the obvious, political paralysis on guns is not about "Congress" or "Washington"
it is very specifically about the Republican Party
the same extremism that leads so many Republicans to resist election outcomes has locked the party in resistance to legislative action

There are reasons Harwood doesn’t want to make it about Congress or the White House…
Democrats control both chambers of Congress and the White House. Blame Democrats for doing nothing in 2 years, and push running on this issue leading up to November

Democrats control the house, senate and presidency Nothing stopping them from writing specific bills. But they don't. https://t.co/iZ5v1h1ADS

But “Republicans” or something.
I honestly feel sorry for people so stupid they think passing a law restricting legal gun ownership will result in less murder.

It’s too bad that this type of kneejerk reaction is all about setting a narrative and not about actually addressing the problems that exist.
There are millions and millions of gun owners in the United States.
Please, I'm begging you. Please have Democrats run on calling all those voting, law abiding gun owners "extremists." https://t.co/2nKoFaeRtk

The “deplorables” approach worked out so well for Hillary Clinton!
John Harwood: that next gun law will be followed by everyone and bring puppies and rainbows because I say so.

Dems and media stay relatively silent when there are shootings that are politically inconvenient:
Every weekend a dozen African American kids are shot in Chicago, and you show no performative outrage. Maybe the real problem is your racism, John? https://t.co/p4orkPpCm9

The “do something” people aren’t often very specific about what that “something” should be.
How exactly would your “legislative action” – i.e., federal govt. intrusion/control – harden soft targets against evildoers, Mr. Harwood?https://t.co/Sk8VXOxbwI

Speaking of “resisting election outcomes,” the CNN “journalist” must have missed this:
John failed to see this as extremism. More than likely because he’s a lying leftist liberal. https://t.co/Yq1vppUhM9 pic.twitter.com/IFIEbXQr6K

We can also throw Stacey Abrams into the mix, but Dems & media (pardon the redundancy) will of course pretend that never happened.
